Our heirloom apples shine in Platinum, which delights the palate with gentle effervescence and notes of fresh apple and cut grass. First released in 2024, this scintillating, semi-dry cider marks Sea Cider’s 20 year “platinum” anniversary since setting sail from our Mt. St. Michael Orchard on Vancouver Island. We raise a glass to this milestone and the voyage ahead!

The Story

In 2004, Kristen Needham, owner and founder of Sea Cider, acquired our beloved Farm property. Within the first year, with the help of friends and family, she planted 1,000 heirloom apple trees, marking the beginning of this journey. Over the years, our orchard has flourished, now boasting several hundred more trees, encompassing a diverse collection of over 60 varietals of cider apples including English, French and German heritage breeds.

To commemorate our 20th Anniversary on Vancouver Island, we proudly present ‘Platinum’. This special cider blend celebrates Sea Cider’s story showcasing traditional, bittersweet and bittersharp estate-grown apples delivering light phenolic aromas and appealing astringency.  A classic, yet approachable craft cider, ideal for toasting any occasion!
