You’re Invited to our Annual Wassail Celebrations – January 15th!

Join us for our annual Wassail celebrations at Sea Cider January 15th from 11am-4pm!

Sea Cider will be hosting a day of fun-filled, family events at the Farm & Ciderhouse located at 2487 Mt. St. Michael Rd in Saanichton!

Wassailing is an ancient custom in which we bless the orchard and scare away all the evil spirits. Wassail celebrations involve singing and drinking to the health of trees in the hope that they will thrive. The word ‘wassail’ comes from the Anglo-Saxon phrase ‘waes hael’, which means ‘good health’.

In celebration of Wassail, we will be offering:
– Guided tours of the cidery and orchard
– Kids crafts & activities
– Prizes & giveaways
– Complimentary welcome glass of cider
– Cider for purchase
– Official orchard blessing
– Morris dancers
– Mummers play
– Sample delicious food from our catering partners
– Cider and food tickets available for purchase

“Here’s to thee, old apple-tree,
Whence thou mayst bud, and whence thou mayst blow,
And whence thou mayst bear apples enow!
Hats-full! Caps-full!
Bushel, bushel sacks-full!
And my pockets full, too! Huzza!”
