Wassail Day
January 22, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm PST
FREE - RSVP
Join us on January 22nd from 11am to 4pm for our annual Wassail Day celebrations at Sea Cider!
Wassailing is an ancient custom in which we bless the orchard and scare away all the evil spirits. The word ‘wassail’ comes from the Anglo-Saxon phrase ‘waes hael’, which means ‘good health’. Wassail celebrations involve singing and drinking to the health of trees in the hope that they will thrive.
We will be celebrating the beginning of the growing season with food, cider, music and dances!
– Live music with Dilly Cooner (11:30 am and 1:30 pm)
– Traditional songs and dances with Hollytree Morris and Island Thyme Morris (12:30 pm and 2:30 pm)
– Fresh and Mulled Sea Cider
– Delicious crepes by Country Crepes
