It's pruning season! 🍎 Our trees are full sized It's pruning season! 🍎 Our trees are full sized apple trees grafted onto dwarf root stock. This keeps them small while still allowing them to produce large quantities of fruit, as well as ease of yearly harvest and pruning using simple hand tools. Thanks Farm Megan for keeping the orchard in check! 🍎

Because you loved it so much, we made some more Sa Because you loved it so much, we made some more Sassamanash to get you through the Holidays! Sassamanash combines the best British Columbia grown apples with the finest BC cranberries and hibiscus flowers. We soak our cranberries and hibiscus flowers in spirits sourced from Vancouver Island, allowing them to steep for up to a year. Once we deem the flavours, aromas and colour to be sufficiently extracted, we press these blends with our wooden basket press then add these crimson bitters to our farm-crafted cider just before bottling. The result: a beautiful light rose coloured cider with a bright, balanced acidity that is drenched in autumn sweetness. As a cider in our Canadian Invasion Series proceeds helps combat invasive plants.

This year we were lucky to get a call from our fri This year we were lucky to get a call from our friend Lorelie, who let us know that they had some Perry pears ready to go! These trees have been bearing fruit for over a century at a little homestead in Deep Cove, just a short drive from our farm. Perry pears do not make an ideal snack, the taste is pretty awful but they are oh so perfect for Perry! Small, hard and packed with tannins, they were bred for centuries for one reason only: to make Perry! 🍐
.
These trees are quite tall so we resorted to using a long pole to shake the pears free from the upper branches onto a tarp below. Then we collected the pears to bring them back to our farm for pressing.

Can you guess which limited release cider is comin Can you guess which limited release cider is coming out next? Hint - it's part of our barrel series.
.
Centuries before stainless steel tanks were available, it was common practice to age cider in oak barrels. In particular, used oak barrels were once a cidermaker’s most convenient storage option. Their use imparted a range of additional notes to traditional cider, from the spirited notes of rum, gin and bourbon to the wine notes of sherry and fermented grapes.
.
Our Barrel Series pays tribute to these traditional oak aging methods by using different types of oak to age a selection of our ciders. This imparts a variety of aromatics and flavour notes to the ciders, while creating a complex and structured finished product. #Raise a glass of barrel aged cider!
We're back at it and have some very exciting seaso We're back at it and have some very exciting seasonals and limited releases returning over the next few months. Right now, Nicole is working on Pippins, one of our most popular ciders. Pippins is part of our heirloom series and is a “sharp” style cider, thanks to the Yellow Newton Pippin apples we use and cool fermentation from champagne yeast. It fits just about every occasion and its crisp bite will pair perfectly with everything from steak and salad to spicy curry dishes. #RaiseAGlass of Pippins!

We are a certified organic farm (in compliance with National Organic Standards through Pacific Agricultural Certification (PACs), a non-profit BC based organization.) Being a certified organic farm and ciderhouse, we must use preventative maintenance to protect the trees from disease. Our orchard manager maintains the health of our trees by encouraging and nourishing soil biodiversity and using compost. The soil in our orchard is the “best of both worlds” – first few feet are glacial till (good soil drainage), with a clay pan below (excellent for holding water and nutrient retention).
