Senior DTC Sales & Marketing Associate (Part-Time or Full-Time Year-Round)

Sea Cider is hiring someone to lead our “direct-to-consumer” sales! Are you an experienced sales professional with a flair for retail sales? Quick Stats

  • Compensation: $18.25 to $19.50 per hour (depending on experience) + 4% vacation pay + a share of pooled gratuities, for a total average target compensation of $27.28 (gross) per hour
  • Work schedule: 9am to 2pm five days/week. Tuesdays & Wednesdays off. 
  • Vacation: 2 weeks + option of up to two week additional vacation
  • Level of responsibility: reports to Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Focus areas: All Direct to Consumer (DTC) sales – Retail Store, eCommerce & Cider Club – plus helping with marketing to drive product sales
  • Experience: Retail sales experience, plus any of the following:  Social media, digital advertising tools, copywriting, website content management, email marketing, photography

The Job

Our Senior DTC Sales & Marketing Associate will help us reach our DTC revenue target from our on site Retail Store, ecommerce, and Cider Club. Focus areas:

Ciderhouse Store

  • Merchandising, creating seasonal displays, executing monthly promotions and managing our gift basket program
  • Managing store inventory, sourcing goods from local suppliers, and collaborating with local artisans to create Sea Cider branded merchandise
  • Managing the store float, completing cash outs, and regularly updating information in our POS system
  • Creating sales & inventory reports to review with our Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Keeping the retail store and storage spaces clean, organized and welcoming
  • Processing customer purchases

eCommerce & Cider Club

  • Processing consumer orders that arrive by website, phone, email or DMs
  • Planning Cider Club roll-outs, packing orders, and responding to Cider Club member inquiries. Signing up new members!

Marketing

  • Social Media: Responding to social media messages, creating content and scheduling posts 
  • Updating website and assisting Sales & Marketing Manager with other product-related marketing initiatives

This person reports to our Manager of Sales, Marketing & Business Development. Performance is measured against DTC revenue, customer engagement and productivity metrics.

The work week is 9am to 2pm, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.  Compensation is $19.50 per hour + 4% vacation pay + a share of pooled gratuities, for a total target hourly compensation of $27.28 (gross). Additional hours/shifts are available for those interested in full time hours.

About You

You are a sales professional with a proven track record in retail sales. You have worked on social media campaigns and other kinds of  marketing initiatives, and have a blend of analytical, creative and organizational skills. In addition you have:

  • Education: Serving It Right required; Food Safe an asset. Post secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, sales or related field required 
  • Vocational experience: at least one year of retail sales or marketing experience required, with experience in social media, digital advertising tools, copywriting, website content management, email marketing, graphic design, or photography.
  • Industry experience: Experience in retail & consumer goods required.
  • Communication skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills, a gift for diplomacy, and a proven track record in problem solving, resolving customer complaints successfully, and avoiding complaints in the first place!
  • Technology & equipment: Highly proficiency using common industry software, and an eagerness to learn new programs and systems.
  • Personal aptitude: a high degree of professionalism and personal accountability for achieving targets. Curiosity, great listening skills, a gift for collaboration and an openness to feedback. A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get the job done and collaborate with colleagues. An interest in learning about cider!
  • Work week available: Able to work part time hours year round, 9am to 2pm, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.
  • Physical requirements: Able to lift up to 25 kg several times daily (cases of cider, for example) and to work walking and standing up for hours at a time.
