Packaging and Farm Assistant
We are seeking part-time and full-time Packaging & Farm Assistants to join our team!

The Job
Packaging & Farm Assistants work mainly on Sea Cider’s packaging line. They bottle, cap, pasteurize, label, case, palletize, forklift and warehouse finished goods. They also work regularly in the orchard, helping to pick and press apples during harvest season and helping with other orchard-related tasks depending on the season. Performance is assessed against daily production targets, product quality, maintaining a safe workspace, following packaging protocols, and contributing to a positive team culture. Team health & safety are always top priorities.
The work week is week days, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Pay is $18.50 per hour + 4% vacation pay.
Comprehensive training is provided, including training on beverage packaging, forklift operations, warehousing, cleaning and sanitation, apple pressing, apple harvesting, WHMIS, and of course, cider!

About You
This position is suited to someone new to manufacturing, orcharding or the brewing or winemaking or cidermaking beverage industry that is keen to grow their skills and experience. It requires a hands-on problem solver who loves physical labour and pitching in to help colleagues. In addition, the position requires:
- Education: High school diploma is preferred.
- Industry experience: Experience in manufacturing, farming or construction – an asset
- Vocational experience: Experience as a general labourer or similar – required.
- Equipment experience: Experience with a forklift and industrial equipment – an asset. The ability to learn how to operate packaging and farming equipment.
- Communication skills: Able to understand instructions in English and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Personal aptitude: A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get the job done. Curiosity, great listening skills and an openness to feedback.
- Work week availability: able to work weekday daytime shifts, part time or full time hours.
- Physical requirements: The physical strength to safely lift and carry 25 kg bags of ingredients and cases of cider frequently throughout the day, the physical stamina to work on your feet for hours at a time and operate manufacturing equipment while standing all day.
- Health and safety: Up to date communicable disease vaccinations, including for COVID.
- Continuous improvement: A desire to work for a business that is growing and seeking to continually improve.
