Special Event Coordinator

We are seeking a Special Event Coordinator to join our team!

Our Special Event Coordinator is a hands-on professional who plays a key role in ensuring that Events at Sea Cider run smoothly and Event Clients and Attendees have a positive experience. 

During the High Season, event coordination work is mainly focused on weddings. Shifts are generally Thursday through Monday, 8:30am to 4:30pm with responsibilities such as:

  • finalizing event details
  • acting as the main liaison on communications with clients
  • Invoicing clients and processing event payments
  • leading site visits to show clients Sea Cider’s event spaces
  • coordinating event plans with other Sea Cider departments
  • assisting with event team training and supervision
  • helping team with event set up

During the Rainy Season, the Special Event Coordinator frequently takes on event-related projects, customer service work such as conducting cider tastings, and frequently acts as Event Host at afternoon and evening events. Event Host work involves event set up, greeting Clients, assigning tasks to team members, serving guests and troubleshooting. The Lead Event Coordinator also has the opportunity to assist with marketing events.

Position Requirements:

This position requires skills in leadership, team coordination, communication and customer service. The person in this position is a positive individual with an impressive track record in events, from weddings to corporate mixers, who is excited by the opportunity to work for a community-minded yet growth-oriented company.  In addition, the position requires:

  • Education: Serving It Right is required. Food Safe Level 1 preferred.
  • Vocation experience: at least two years of leadership experience in a coordination role involving customer service.
  • Industry experience: experience in food & beverage, hospitality or events – required 
  • HR management skills: experience supervising service teams, and an aptitude for leadership and facilitating team collaboration.
  • Relationships: gift for customer service, resolving customer complaints successfully, and avoiding complaints in the first place. 
  • Communication skills: strong. Demonstrated success in teamwork
  • Computer skills: experience using point of sale systems, reservation systems, work processing systems, and a willingness to learn new computer skills
  • Personal aptitude: curiosity, great listening skills and openness to feedback. Ability to work well with others and to jump in to help when needed. 
  • Work week flexibility: willing to work flexible hours as needed
  • The physical strength to safely and manually carry cases of cider, stacks of chairs and dish racks, and the physical stamina to work on your feet for hours at a time. Willingness to work outside, rain or shine.
