Senior Hospitality Associate (Full-Time / Year Round)

Quick Stats
- Compensation: $18.50 + tips
- Vacation: 4% + option of up to 3 weeks unpaid during quiet season
- Work week schedule: 10:30am to 6:30pm, Tue and Wed off, evenings as needed (following Sea Cider’s lieu time policy)
- Level of responsibility: Shift lead, reporting to the Hospitality Manager
- Front line customer service time: 80% to 100%
- Focus: F&B service, bartending, bussing, supporting the kitchen team as needed, touring guests as our Lead Cider Guide, assisting the Hospitality Manager with administrative tasks, and acting as Shift Lead on the Hospitality Manager’s days off
The Job
Our full time, year round Senior Hospitality Associate is the “right hand” of the Hospitality Manager in executing Hospitality operations. The focus of this position is F&B service, bartending, bussing, supporting the kitchen team as needed, touring guests as a Cider Guide, assisting the Hospitality Manager with administrative tasks, and acting as Shift Lead on the Hospitality Manager’s days off. Performance is assessed against reservation management, customer reviews, team culture, and maintaining a clean work space. Health and safety of guests and staff, and positive customer experiences, are paramount.

About Us
Sea Cider is a certified organic farm near Victoria BC that grows heirloom apples and produces award-winning cider and sparkling juice. About You
You excel at customer service, problem solving, maintaining a positive attitude, and collaborating. In addition you have:
- Education: Serving It Right required; Food Safe an asset. Post secondary degree or diploma in hospitality or related field an asset.
- Vocational & Industry experience: at least three years serving in a fast-paced food and beverage operation; at least one year as a Shift Lead.
- People management: A gift for helping to create a positive team culture while maintaining service standards and team focus. An interest in learning more people management skills.
- Communication skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills, a gift for diplomacy, and a proven track record in problem solving, resolving customer complaints successfully, and avoiding complaints in the first place!
- Project management: an interest in assisting management with projects.
- Technology & equipment: High proficiency using common industry software, and an eagerness to learn new programs. Experience with standard food & beverage service equipment, especially reservation systems and tactics for optimizing seated covers.
- Personal aptitude: a high degree of professionalism and personal accountability for achieving targets. Curiosity, great listening skills, a gift for collaboration and an openness to feedback. A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get the job done and work “shoulder to shoulder” with colleagues. An interest in learning about cider!
- Work week available: Able to work full time hours year round with two days off mid-week. Willing to work occasional evenings to meet the needs of the business per Sea Cider’s lieu time policy.
- Physical requirements: Able to lift up to 25 kg several times daily (cases of cider, stacks of chairs, for example) and to work walking and standing up, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine, for hours at a time.
