Culinary Lead

 

Love a simple, tasty menu that brings smiles to customers? We’re looking for an energetic, organized Culinary Lead to ensure our customers enjoy delicious offerings that pair well with cider!

This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll be guiding our small culinary team, managing daily operations, prepping food, and keeping our kitchen spotless and our quality standards sky-high. This is also an exciting opportunity to play a central role leading Sea Cider’s food operations.

 

What You’ll Do

As Culinary Lead, you’ll be responsible for the full culinary process, from managing inventory, to prepping, to cooking, to plating, to cleaning dishes and equipment. You’ll keep the kitchen running smoothly, delivering high quality food and service during our operating hours. You will be working hands-on in the kitchen, and are a strong independent worker who embraces team collaboration. You’ll:

  • Be responsible for the full culinary process, from managing inventory, to prepping, to cooking, to plating, and cleaning
  • Manage food preparation, presentation, and rotation to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety standards
  • Track inventory, place orders, and work with suppliers to source top-quality products
  • Monitor service speed and quality, assisting during peak times every day
  • Provide creative input on designing seasonal menus that complement our ciders
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe and inviting workspace
  • Lead kitchen projects to grow the bottom line
  • Create appealing displays and seasonal specials to drive sales
  • Handle daily kitchen operations single-handedly at non-peak times; lead a small team during high season
  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment
  • Train team members on recipes, procedures, and customer service best practices and provide performance feedback that motivates team members to excel
  • Potential to contribute to on-site events
  • Stay up to date on and contribute to company policies, procedures, and operations

 

What We Offer

 

  • Competitive Pay: Up to $25/hour, depending on experience and certifications + 4% vacation pay + share of pooled gratuities, for a total target hourly compensation of $33/hour ($64,000 annually)
  • Schedule: Full-time (30-40 hours per week)
  • Vacation: 2 weeks unpaid + option of additional 2 weeks

About You

 

You’re an experienced food service professional who leads by example. You bring:

  • At least 5 years in a kitchen, deli, or food retail environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Food Safe- required, First Aid certification, Serving-It Right certificate, and post-secondary culinary diploma – preferred
  • An enthusiasm for working all kitchen roles – from customer-facing sales to food prep, managing inventory, washing dishes and deep cleaning
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a busy setting
  • Project management experience implementing culinary improvements and launching new products that align with the company’s gluten-free vision
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Positive growth mindset, a sense of curiosity, and a joyful team player
  • A customer-first focus and a genuine love for great food
  • Comfort with point-of-sale systems and basic inventory software
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 15 kg routinely each day

Hospitality Associate

 

We are seeking a Food & Beverage service star to join our team! Do you enjoy customer service and helping others? Do you love the idea of working on an organic farm serving exceptional cider? Then we’d love to hear from you!

 

Quick Stats

 

  • Pay: $17.50 per hour + 4% vacation pay + share of tips pool
  • Work days options: daytime, evenings, weekdays, weekends
  • Shift options: 5 hr to 8 hr shifts (eg noon to 5pm, 11am to 7pm, 3pm to 11pm)
  • Seasonality: part-time and full-time hours available during the high season, and part-time shifts available year-round

 

The Job

 

Our Hospitality Associates provide visitors with an exceptional cider-centric experience. Depending on interest level and aptitude, team members have the opportunity to work on any of our Hospitality Teams – Tastings, Events, or Culinary  – as Cider Guides, Tasting Hosts, Bartenders, Event Assistants, Event Hosts, and Kitchen Assistants. They greet and seat guests, serve food & drinks, explain our ciders, bus tables, help with opening and closing duties, wash glassware, bartend, clean, help restock the bar, set up for events, etc.

 

Focused training on one or more teams is provided, as well as dedicated cider training. This is a great opportunity for a flexible job, offering valuable resume experience and plenty of time spent outdoors.
