Summary

Sea Cider is looking for a positive, professional, Vancouver-based Brand Ambassador to sell cider in the Lower Mainland. As an important member of our Sales & Marketing team, the Lower Mainland Brand Ambassador is responsible for growing sales in liquor stores, restaurants and pubs in the region. Sea Cider has experienced exceptional sales growth across BC, and we see additional opportunities that a region-specific sales rep could help us take advantage of.

The position focus is on:

  • Wholesale revenue growth in the region by focusing on maintaining current accounts, re-starting dormant accounts and developing new accounts
  • Farmers market revenue growth in the region by selling cider directly to consumers at such markets
  • Building Sea Cider brand awareness by identifying and working at tasting events and undertaking other promotional activities

Your excellent interpersonal skills make you an approachable and customer-focused sales professional. These sales skills are coupled with a superior approach to follow-through, organization and coordination.

Position Responsibilities

The Lower Mainland Brand Ambassador is responsible for the following:

  • Selling Sea Cider products to private liquor stores and licensees in the territory
  • Acting as a Sea Cider Brand Ambassador in all professional interactions
  • Meeting the pre-determined sales targets for the region
  • Using the following strategies to meet wholesale targets:
    • Regular phone calls to all wholesale customers in the region (i.e. we expect that 25% of our Lower Mainland customers are called each week)
    • Regular customer visits (i.e. we expect that 25% of our Lower Mainland customers are visited each month) to meet with staff, introduce new products to  staff, and assist them with product placement, shelf talkers, etc.
    • Regular public tastings at customer locations (i.e. we expect that you will conduct at least 4 public tastings each week)
    • Social media notices (i.e. we expect that you will create/re-post relevant posts several times per week)
  • Using the following strategies to meet farmers market targets:
    • Attend at least 1 farmers markets per week in the low season (November through April) and attend at least 3 farmers markets per week in the high season (May through October) where you will conduct sampling and sell cider by the bottle
  • Reporting on the use of promotional cider, noting dates, the number of bottles used and the customers who received the promotional bottles
  • Reporting all customer communications and contact (phone calls, store visits, emails) using provided CRM software
  • Provide Sea Cider with signed credit applications for new customers, which must be completed by the customer prior to their first sales order being fulfilled
  • Relay any customer issues to Sea Cider for follow up as needed
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to Sea Cider
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to Sea Cider based on observations in the marketplace and discussions with customers
  • Building Sea Cider brand awareness by identifying and working at tasting events and undertaking other promotional activities

Knowledge & Skills Required

Our Lower Mainland Brand Ambassador must fulfill this customer service expectation and demonstrate exceptional relationship skills, whether with clients, colleagues or suppliers.

In addition to exceptional customer service skills, the position requires a sincere, friendly, positive individual and:

  • Previous sales and/or marketing experience in the food and beverage industry, hospitality or tourism. Experience in BC’s alcohol industry would be a definite advantage, as would region-specific and customer-specific experience
  • Knowledge and love of craft cider!
  • Working knowledge of the liquor sales industry; including sales channels, government licensing restrictions and routes to market
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • A high degree of professionalism, initiative and personal accountability for meeting deliverables
  • Strong skills in time management, organization and coordination; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once
  • The ability to assess problems, recommend actions and implement appropriate solutions
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, CRM and point of sale software and systems.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet sales goals
